I'm not sure if anyone out there is still listening to this little blog and I am definitely lost on the new Blogger, so I really have no idea how "following," or blogging for that matter, works any more, but I decided I wanted to start blogging again.  To be honest, my life has literally not changed one bit in the last year.  No change in hair color (been there, half of my hair broke off in high school, swore to never go there again).  No change in school other than another year down (one more, plus the dreaded Bar exam to go).  No change in marital (or engagital) status.  Really not that many new clothes because my sad student budget forces me to be cheap, cheap, cheap.  So, if you were wondering if you missed out on anything, it was really just a slew of less-than-interesting outfits and the necessary  complaining about professors.
If you want to know why I left, I'll tell you I really can't pin down one reason.  I can tell you that when life got busy with school and my photography business and, well, ya know, life, blogging became just another thing I "had" to do.  I felt like my closet and pool of blog topics were becoming stale.  I was reading lots of other blogs (and Pinterest!) and everyone seemed to be so much funnier, more interesting, have better closets, have better photographers.  I could keep going with this, but I think you know where that one is headed.  Part of the reason I quit was because I felt like I wasn't the best, or even in the top, so why bother.  But you know what?  In this one year sabbatical I have learned that this was more than just a fashion blog.  I have learned that it really was much more for me than it was for everyone else.  It motivated me to keep a journal of my life.  It motivated me to take pictures of all the little things I do, things that have gone completely undocumented since last year.  Dusty has been asking me to come back to blogging for quite some time now, saying he misses the blogging side of me.  As it turns out, he was probably my most avid reader.  It also turns out that I miss me to.  I miss stopping to write things down.
I've said all of this to say that I am going to give this a go again.  I am not making any promises to blog outfit pictures every day.  In fact, judging by the pictures on my camera phone, it may turn into a blog of pictures of my dogs (which is why I don't have Instagram, I need to maintain some semblance of a normal person who does not spend 80 percent of time with her dogs).  I have night classes this semester, so the whole picture thing may take some working out.  I'm a little rusty on the writing and the posing and still not much in the humor department.  But I want to blog for me.  Not to compare myself to others, but to be able to look back and remember the person that I was (am) right now.
If anyone is out there, hello, I hope you are doing splendidly!  Thanks for reading!
Love,
Ramsey
P.S.  Clearly, I need some help in the blog design department, so spare me on that one.  I am trying to work it out, but should anyone want to volunteer their talents, who am I to say no?

Every so often Dusty and I go out to his dad's farm.  Sometimes we ride around on tractors or pick vegetables.  Sometimes we fish.  And sometimes we just sit on the tailgate and chat.  It's very peaceful and beautiful and there is always a breeze out there, which means it is always abundantly cooler than anywhere else.  Last week, I took my camera along and snapped some photos of the charming, old farm equipment and such.  Which was kind of nice.  So here you go.

Blanket and Tea

Those are pretty much the only things I've been interested in all day.  That and hugs.  Which is a negative, seeing as I wouldn't want to contaminate anyone.  Nothing but a change of seasons runny nose and sore throat, but I'm pretty sure I will soon be approaching my imminent death.  I don't do well with sickness.  Or pain of any sort.  So there is my day.  Class.  Three or four cups of hot tea (I lost count).  Blanket and filling out financial aid forms for school.  Need some cuddles.  Oh, and it rained.  All day long.  Extra lovely.
I'm off to bed now, hoping that all will be sunshine and rainbows in the morning.

Insight into the exhilarating life of Ramsey:  My most favorite show, currently on television, is Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.  Ka-pow.  I know the fat, grease, and food coma(ness) of it all may be too much for some, but there is little I love more than snuggling up on a Friday night, watching like three episodes, and mentally planning vacations to each location they visit.  There is no other logical way to plan a vacation you guys.  Anyway, this past Friday marked a visit to a barbecue joint outside of Memphis that had me drooling on the remote, even after I had devoured my weight in hot wings and french fries.  I feel absolutely disgusting just typing that sentence.  You guys, this place had invented the "redneck taco," a cornbread flapjack topped with a mound of BBQ pork, sauce, cole slaw, and all that is holy.  Why has this never occurred to me?  So naturally, I have to try it.  Only instead of smoking a whole hog (because the stinkin' smoker just isn't quite big enough and Costco, ironically, doesn't carry whole hogs), I threw some boneless pork into the crock pot and squeezed in 1/2 a bottle of barbecue sauce.  I would say that's pretty much the same thing.  We shall taste test and deliberate over results shortly.

Today's weather was absolutely lovely.  I mean made it down to the sixties lovely.  That's a "6" in front of that "ties" (!!!), which means I am now in the mood for snuggling, apple flavored delectables, dependably good hair days, and candles all around.  Perhaps this is a bit premature, but I reserve the right to soak up any ounce of fall goodness as I can get it.  And as frosting on the pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake, look at this little goody that nestled itself in my mail today:
IMG_2273

It's been sitting across the couch from me all evening, right behind the great wall of textbooks just waiting to be devoured.  After Evidence and Family Law and Non Profit Law of course.  Because I am a good (or really-scared-of-being-called-on) student after all.  Maybe once I'm snuggled in bed.  That is surely the best place to read fall magazines.  Let's hope this niceness stays around all week!
Love,
Ramsey

P.S.  Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cupcakes sound delicious and I'm thinking I'll have to invent a recipe for those soon.

Summer

I feel like it ran away super fast and I kind of missed the whole thing while it was here.  Not that summer weather here in Florida has gone away or anything, because that junk is around for a few more months.  But you know, the pack a picnic, pick some berries, lay back and enjoy the stars type things that you are supposed to do all summer?  Well, we never really got around to a whole lot of that.  And I kind of feel guilty.  Like I got so busy doing that I missed out on some being.  I wish we had taken more evenings and Sunday afternoons just to soak up the summerness of summer.  With the camera along for the ride, of course, because I do have a photo wall in the works which I have failed miserably at enlarging recently.

I'm not writing this as a pity post or to whine about summer being over (because, quite frankly, I could really go for some fall temperatures right about now!), but to note on paper {or into the weviverse as the case may be} and to myself to be more present this season and enjoy more of the loveliness that is fall.
You'll hold me accountable, won't you?

Ramsey

Football is back in town

Shirt: Borrowed from sis, Shoes, Steve Madden, Jeans: J.Crew, Watch and bracelets: c/o Mimi's and John Wind

Which makes for a crowded mall on Saturdays, hamburgers becoming an every-weekend affair, extra afternoon naps for me because heaven forbid I make it through a whole game awake, a busy boyfriend (because he absolutely can make it through a game awake), a sleepy puppy who pees when we don't give him enough attention, a full house because you always have to have friends over in order to make it football, the warchant being back in town, tailgating invites, newbie college students living the campus life, and really happy (and preoccupied) menfolk.
Shopping season is here guys!
