Spring Cleaning

I've been feeling strangely productive as of recent on the house cleaning front. Which is surprising, considering the out-of-character rainy weather we've been having. My typical self would curled up on the sofa with a hot beverage and a good magazine, clinging to my blanket for dear life and pretending I'm on some fabulous vacation in Seattle. Nope, I've departed from my dearest blankie to scrub, dust, and launder all mess of things. The only problem is that I can't seem to make a dent in my bedroom. I come home everyday and swear that a burgular has broken into the house and made a mess of my room searching for valuables. Then I realize that I don't have any valuables. And my room looked exactly the same way when I woke up that morning. It's a mental barrier, I'm tellin' ya. That and I'm pretty sure my clothes have tripled over the winter and no matter how I beg, push, and plead, they will not force their little selves back into drawers and closet space. Lets not even mention the dusting and vaccuuming that needs to go down in there. When you can't see the floor or the dresser top, there's little need for such things. Baagghh. I think I need a personal assistant to come and purge for me. Any takers?

Ok, I've got to go unload a dryer-full of laundry and hit the sack. Likely under a pile of said laundry.

Happy dreams!

Do I need gold tennis shoes with this?

Shirt: c/o Karen Kane, Shoes: Target, Jeans: Belk, Headband: F21, Watch: c/o Mimi's

This is probably the comfiest shirt I now own. It's pretty much like wearing around a soft blankie all day. Not that I've ever done that. Pssht. Okay. Maybe once. Or twice. And only in semi-public. It's rough being cold natured. Also, I'm considering a matching gold visor and sneaker set to go with it. And then I'm running off to Vegas to play the slots with all of the little old ladies. I'll wear my coral lipstick and dye my hair orange and I should fit right in.

Do you guys have any particularly fluffy Friday night plans? Mine include lounging in my leggings of choice and being a little piggy on some good grub. For which I need ideas. Preferably low-maintenance, low clean-up ones for which I will be taking suggestions below. So really, help a sista out.

Happy Friday to all of you peoples who stopped by!

I am a Valentimes failure this year. My intentions were top notch. The execution...not so grand. I had this elaborate party planned for all the ladies in my family and a fantastic domestic-goddessy dinner for Dusty in the cards. Unfortunately, I'm far better at making lists and planning in my head than actually getting myself to work. Which translates into late nights and running around like a chicken with my head cutt off at all hours of the day trying to pull my little act together. The party was a success. Check 1. We all got sugar high on cake, cupcakes, pies, marshmallows, cookies, and truffles (all of which I photographed and haven't a clue where the pictures have gone) and then reverted back to third grade and made sappy cards for each other from construction paper and gluesticks that made each other cry. We are very successful at being ladies.

Now on to the sweetheart who I am very happy to call my Valentine this year. Because we wouldn't want to leave that guy out. And because I love him very very much and he deserves a fantastic dinner and lots of treats not just today, but every day. Only he would get frustrated if I fed him treats every day because he's concerned with maintaining his womanly figure. So treats today it is. And we will intersperse some calorie-free love notes throughout the rest of the year so that he doesn't forget how special he is. Happy Valentines Sugar Bear!

Happy Valentines to all of you beauties too! Now go be a fatty and chow down on some chocolatey goodness. It's only one day a year. I love your little selves!

Ramsey

Nana Splits and Dead Batteries

Dress, Jacket, Belt: Gap, Shoes: Nine West, Bag: Vintage Gucci, Watch: c/o Mimi's, Lips: Revlon Certainly Red (Which amazingly lasts all day. And does not smell like old ladies.)

1. I had a banana split for the first time in fo-eva and it was legit amazing. Not to brag, but I think I'm going to name myself the master banana spliteur. I might even make a badge. And a hat. Why is it bananas taste so much better buried under a mound of ice cream, slathered in chocolate and caramel with a dollop of whipped cream and cherries on top?

2. My car battery died at school this week and I got stuck in the parking lot, waiting for someone to come and jump me off. Note to self (and by self, I mean Dusty), I need jumper cables. And a lesson on how to use them. I'm pretty sure it's incredible how I've managed to get this old without knowing anything about my car. If it goes, it must be ok is my motto. (Dusty, disregard that last sentence.) I smell some lessons coming up.

3. (Because if a lists must come in lengths of 3, 5, and 10 in my OCD mind.) This outfit was a product of my trying to dress a suit for mandatory suit day in a way that made it non-perfectly-boring. To me, a black suit is like a straight jacket. Unhappy, unnecessary, and without pizzaz. I had to add the hint of red to please my wild side. As previously stated, I have the "wild side" of an 80-year-old. Hott.

Because Tallahassee does not have a drive-in...sill town

We created our own version. Complete with nachos, soft-baked pretzels, and movie candy. Oh Spring weather, how I love you! It was an absolutely perfect night for setting up the computer outside, piling blankets up in the yard, and settling in for a movie under the stars. Even if we did have to pause the movie like three times to get the inside computer speakers to make the sound louder than a whisper and the screen was the size of a cereal box instead of a cinema. Cheese whiz, it was fantastic.

Happy Monday!

Probably why no one has ever taken me camping

Dress: Sparkle, Boots: Madden Girl, Tights: Target, Vest: Old Navy, Sweater: F21, Shirt: American Eagle, Belt and Necklace: Thrifted, Watch: c/o Mimi's

Because to me, this seems like the perfect campfire-sitting, smores eating look. Eh, perhaps jeans would be more appropriate. But I never claimed not to be Camping Barbie. Maybe someday I'll get a camping badge to add to my repertoire, but until then, I suppose I'll just wear plaid and boots and pertend to be a girl scout. Or a nature-loving tree hugger. Or a lumberjack (jill?).

The weather is fab-u-lous today my friends and I have the strange, bubbling desire to go for a run. Maybe it's just the fresh air. But I think I better take advantage of this fleeting sense of "I can run a marathon" while it lasts. Happy weekend!

Ramsey

Looking at these photos, it is abundantly clear...

That I need a tan, a manicure, someone to tighten my belt, and a boob job. Ok, maybe not that last one. I'm anti-plastic surgery for the record, but if I woke up one morning with two nice, perky lady lumps instead of the pre-teen look I've got going, I don't know that I'd complain. Sorry for those of you for whom that statement was TMI.

I must make a shout-out to Revlon (who does not support this blog in any way, but if you would like to send me sweet gifts of your glorious lipstick, Revlon, by all means you may), who makes the most amazing shades of lipstick that last for stinkin' ever. Really, I put this on when I got home from class, had a glass of water, took a bath, and put on my scrubbies and then Dusty walked in and asked if I had just put some lipstick on. Rock on with you Revlon, rock on. The one caveat is that this particular shade smells like old ladies. No offense to old ladies, but you know what the ones at church who have blue hair and wear bright, obnoxious shades of lipstick smell like. Yeah that. Probably because this shade was designed particularly for them. Dusty is not quite fond of me smelling like an elderly, blue-haired church lady, so I try to keep this lipstick reserved for my non-smooching days.

I also re-discovered my love for bubble baths last night. I don't know why I have abandoned those magical things for so long. For some reason it just seems like so much more of a time investment. But last night as I stood there looking back and forth between the tub and the shower, I decided to "what the heck" it and sink into a steaming-hot pool of bubbly goodness. It was pretty much delicious. Even if I did cut my legs shaving in like five places (how do you shave in the tub?). I will most definitely be indulging again soon.

Ok, I hope you all have fabulous Friday night plans!

Love,

Ramsey

P.S. This year is a leap year, so there are 29 days in February. Please disregard the incorrect number in the last post. I am not a complete nincompoop, I just have never been able to remember how many days per month. Or learn my right from my left. But that's neither here nor there.

I'm sitting here on the sofa. Where my bum has been planted since I walked in the door. After I took outfit pictures, of course. Not this outfit. This was Tuesday and I am just getting it posted. Motivation is clearly my motto this week. Especially today. Right. Because sitting in your school clothes now covered in dog hair because those boogies need some lovin', wanting a glass of water and a shower but too lazy to drag it off the couch sounds extra motivated. I have accomplished checking my school email, catching up on some long-overdue blogreading, and facebook stalking (I know, I stooped that low, you've done it on your bum days too.). Obviously a win for a Thursday. I'll probably hit up Pinterest next, just to make sure I've got all of the Constitutional Law, Federalist, Contracts mish mash out of my head and replaced with how to ice cupcakes and make paper heart bunting before I take it to the shower and throw on my yoga pants. Which I live in. Poor Dusty. By the time he gets off work and we see each other, I have already kissed goodby to any semblance of a decent outfit. popped on some black, stretchable, lovable goodness and look like I'm going to the gym. Only I am not, in fact, going to the gym. That's attractive. Which is why I have to post outfit pictures on here so that I can prove to him that I do get up and decently clothe myself every day. Next date night hun, I promise I'll get all dolled up just for you.

Happy February beauties! We have aparently already started our celebrating, as Dusty bought me a red, heart-covered stuffy and a heart-shaped box of chocolates last night. This is surely one of the best months. A 28-day long excuse to wear pink. And eat chocolate. Ok, maybe not the last one. Or maybe so.

Love,

Ramsey
