How to deal with mornings

I must five-thirty seriously kicked my rear end this morning.  (Don't laugh or shake your head.  Waking up is hard.)  And the worst part is, I have to do it again tomorrow.  Meh.  So if you have any tips for my staying conscious through the entirety of an hour and fifteen minute Evidence class first thing in the morning, please don't keep them to yourself.  Fortunately, the rain decided to hold off until just now, so it looks like it will be an early bedtime for Ramsey.  Hopefully complete with raindrops on my window.

Hurricane Party

As seems customary for this time of year (you know, the despicable, school-starting time of year), a lovely little hurricane has decided to make its way on over.  Actually, it's a tropical storm.  And we were all hunkering down, preparing for the worst, only to find out that it is pretty much going to miss us altogether.  Unless, of course, you watch the weather channel.  Which Dusty is absolutely the master at, and which I generally try to avoid because they always seem to convince me that the world is coming to an end via natural disaster.  Drama makes for better TV.  Apparently.  Regardless, we are supposed to be ok here, but all of the county offices (schools included) are off tomorrow.  Unfortunately, law school is not one of them.  So I'll be in class.  While the world enjoys a hurricane party without me.  Now lets just hope I don't get soaked walking to class.

Ramsey

P.S. I do hope that terrible weather does not befall any of you.  Or anyone for that matter.  And I hope you all are able to ride out whatever Isaac may bring from the safety of your cozy little homes.

Rainy days, Puppy Dogs, and Free Hoodies...with two teams on them

This is what Dusty suggested when I told him I had writers' block.  So here we go.
It rained today.  Not a wimpy little rain either.  Like all day. Nonstop. Gray skies.  Rained.  Which was really lovely other than the fact that I had to leave my warm, dry, house this morning to take the puppy to the   vet.  He had to get booster shots which were far less painful than the process of getting dressed, cleaning up tinkle, chasing him down in the rain, getting re-dressed and showing up late it took me to get him there.  Booger.  I'm sure he is sleeping soundly for his daddy tonight.  Also, free hoodies.  They are awesome and I am wearing one right now.  Because hoodies just seem so appropriate for rainy days, no?  Dusty's friend works at a printing shop and gave us a bunch of tester tees and hoodies for freeeee.  Which explains why my  hoodie has two teams on it.  Nova and Syracuse.  Neither of which do I know anything about.  Call me cultured.  So there you go.  Rain.  Dog.  Hoodie.  My day in a nutshell.
How was your Monday?  I'm enjoying my one week off between work and school and trying to get my act together...aka...figure out how to dress myself more than the new standard: one day a week.

Ramsey

New Man in Town

We have a new puppy.  Actually Dusty has a new puppy and I have some sort of custody over the little darling, but we really haven't worked out the legalities of that.  All I know is he is a bundle of love and slobber and poop and we are quite smitten.  I really must show you a picture, but they are all on my phone and so you'll have to wait until my lazy wears off and I get a post together dedicated to pictures of puppy sleeping, laying in the grass, mowing down a bowl of dogfood, getting a bath, and playing with his rubber ducky.  Oh yes, we are those people.  Actually, I wish you could see us crawling around on all fours, camera phones at the ready, waiting to catch so much as a sideways glance.  I'm sure it would ruin our reputations as normal people for pretty much ever.
So let's all wish Dusty best of luck for a night filled with the absence of puppy cries so that he will be rested tomorrow.  Because he is the lucky one who gets to sleep with him in his room and take him out three times a night.  I hear that builds character.
