Halloween Partying

Dress: Sparkle, Shoes: c/o Frock Candy, Scarf: gift, Nails: Milani Neon, Lips: Revlon, Earrings: Sorelli, Jewelry: DIY, F21, Premier

Do you guys have fabulous Halloweening to do this weekend? I can't help it, I'm a downright sucker for individually wrapped candy and sugar hangovers. I worked relentlessly {like two whole afternoons} on my costume and I'm super psyched about it. I dressed up as a harloquin. I think that's how you spell that. It's like a French clown. Or something like that. Anywho, I paired it with a mini top hat {made from a plastic solo cup} and the bestest part. We had our Halloween party last night for the law students and I completely wish I had more photo documentation because these people bewildered my little mind with their creativity. We had a Wall-e made from a cardboard box, Mahem from the Allstate commercial, a flawless rendition of the Chick-fil-a cow (who pulled some dance moves I've never before witnessed), an Iron man costume made from drink boxes, and any number of costumes I can't even think of to mention. Best people-watching ever.

I am dE-termined to make it to the corn maze and pumpkin patch this weekend. I can't let Halloween get away without that. Notta chance. So, do share. I want to hear all about your costumes and Halloween plans pronto!

To: Someone I love like a whole lot, because, well, I love you a whole lot

Dear you,

I love you a whole lot.

Because you kiss Cutter even when he's wet and smelly.

Because you are always encouraging even when I'm not easy to encourage.

Because you make sure that I never forget to eat breakfast. Or snack.

Because you will give up a Saturday of football-watching if I ask you to. And I knoooow how much you adore your Saturday football.

Because you cook dinner.

Because you always try to keep me from cooking dinner. And you know the pizza place's number by heart, so I never have to remember it.

Because you are darn good at sweet nothings.

And love notes, let's not forget love notes.

Because you look smokin' when you're all schnazzied up.

Because you are dressing up with me for tomorrow's Halloween party.

Because you totally would've worn whatever I asked you to.

Because you are the best cuddler. Ever.

Because you let me have your shirts.

And pajama pants. And fleecies.

Because you always know the right moments to supply chocolate.

Because you have a killer happy dance.

Because you make me smile.

And sometimes I make you smile.

And then we're smiling together.

And that's pretty much nice.

I love you!

Dude...your shoelaces

Dress: Sparkle, Sweater and Shoes: Old Navy, Shoelaces: Payless, Bag: Chanel, Jewelry: F21, DIY, Premier, Socks: Target, Nails: Milani Neon

These little puppies caused quite a stir the other day. Who woulda thunk people were so prone to notice shoelaces? I just thought this outfit needed a little jam. Plus my nails were already painted neon. So naturally, I had to have neon shoelaces to match. my brain is a little sleepy. And I just misspelled sleepy like three times. And probably about a gazillion other words in this post. Could someone please tell me why the hours between three and eleven are half as long as the hours between eight and three? Because I'm pretty sure I sat in class for 120 minutes for Torts today and I'm also sure it was 9:00 about thirty minutes ago. I tell you what. I'm going to go hunt down this time thief and show that booger who's boss. Right after I shower. And take an eight {seven} hour nap. Right.

Goat Farm

Sweater: Borrowed from mom, Shorts: Belk, Scarf and jewelry: c/o Mimi's, Bow: DIY, Socks: Target, Boots: Madden Girl

We have a ridiculous amount of time in between our two Wednesday classes. As in four hours of ridiculousness to blow between Civil Proceedure and Property. This time is normally well wasted with a nice lunch break somewhere around town. Well, this week, we decided to step outside the proverbial box and take a field trip to Bradley's Country Store which literally exists in the middle of nowhere. So we all piled into a car and drove out to said middle of nowhere to the little wooden building, which is in every sense a country store. And ate sausage dogs. Anywho, this is a nice story and all that jazz, but the best part is the weather. You see, we planned the trip because Wednesday was predicted to be perfect, crisp, clear, fall weather. Right then. Turns out Wednesday was more artic than fallish because the sun did not show it's pretty little face until approximately 30 minutes after our return from lunch. It was windy and I'm pretty sure there may have been a little snow. {Ok, there wasn't really snow, but it was reeeealllly cold considering it got up to 90 last week and it hadn't reached 70 by lunch.} I clearly wasn't dressed for this kind of weather and I froze my buns off. Oh and there were really cute goats. Hence the title. And the random pictures with said goats. And now I kinda want a pet goat. Rational? Hmmmm....maybe not.

I like my candy corn stale

Jacket: F21, Jeggings: Wal-Mart, Shoes: Steve Madden, Scarf: Gift, Bag: Coach, Jewelry: F21, c/o Mimi's, Movado, Shirt {I promise it's under there...but it was cold and I wasn't staying outside long enough to lose the jacket!}: c/o Karen Kane

Anyone else? Dusty bought a meganormous bag of individually-wrapped candy corn packets and has been sending them to school with me. So naturally, I've been giving an inordinate amount of thought to candy corn lately. That and it's really starting to feel like fall now. So anyway, I'm pretty sure those little morsels of sugary goodness are sufficiently better when allowed to.....mature for a bit out in open air to lose some of their softness. I like when they have a little bite to them. Plus I eat candy corn{s?} in sections. White. Orange. Yellow. That is totally normal, right? And it's easier to section them out once they've gotten some crustiness to the outside. Also nice? Chilled candy corn. It has generally the same effect. So, lessons learned: If you have time, space, and the ability to "air out" or chill your candy corn without having it stolen or eaten out from under you, do give it a try. I recommend at least a day of airage. You can come back to share your reviews later.

How will you be spending your fabulously fallish weekend?

Coming or going

Shirt: c/o Karen Kane, Skirt: Ann Taylor, Vest: Belk, Shoes: Old Navy, Bag: Coach, Necklace: F21, Jewelry: Premier, F21, c/o Mimi's, Movado

Do you ever have those days where your brain just takes a little joyride and you're stuck there {brainless} still trying to function? Geez, I'm about sure my mind has aged about 60 years in the past few weeks because it is ssss-sslipping as we speak. I am a routine person. Wake up. Bathroom. Makeup on. Clothes on. Go to bed. Bathroom. Makeup off. Clothes off. Similar. But three time in the past week. Not kidding you. Three. I have been in the midst of said activities and started to question whether it was morning or night. Once in the shower. Once in the bathroom. Once while washing my face. I'm 5% sure it has to do with some sort of alien abduction. And 95% sure I'm not getting enough sleep. Which is funny. Because I'm pretty sure my days look a little like read, eat, read, read, read, eat, listen, read, sleep, sleep. Two outta ten ain't bad. Hopefully I'll make it back in for a blog tomorrow. But if I go missing, someone please come find me, screw my head on straight, and put me to bed. Thanks in advance.

So bring on the rain

Dress and necklace: Sparkle, Vest: Belk, Jacket: Old Navy, Boots: Arturo Chiang, Shades: F21, Bag: Gucci {Hand-me-down}, Jewelry: Premier, F21, c/o Mimi's

So, I was promised a rainstorm tonight and by golly I better get something by tomorrow. It was considerably hotter than I was expecting {or, rather, hoping for} today and I am petitioning for some coolness. So I can dress as seen above and not roast my buns off all day. Do you know how miserable it is sitting in hard chairs all day with no buns? Oh, the joys of college life. Anywho, I know this outfit was highly impractical, given the weather conditions today, but I just couldn't pass it up after I had taken the time to pick it out and paint my nails to match. {Manhattan by NYC if you were wondering...I'm sure you would have lost sleep over that tonight otherwise...right. Anywho, it's lovely and purpley and fabulous.} I'm pretty sure this scenario is vanity at its finest. And I just admitted it on the internet. You know what they say. If it's online, must be true. So there. From your vain, clothes picking, nail polishing, cool-weather dressing friend. Happy Tuesday.

Shirt: NY and Co., Button-up: Old Navy, Jacket: Thrifted, Shorts: F21, Shoes: Steve Madden, Bag: Burberry, Necklaces: Thrifted, Pin: DIY, Jewelry: Movado, F21, Guess, T and Co., c/o Mimi's

We have a semi-formal going down tonight and I am right excited to see the Dust boy all spiffied up. The dress code is black-and-white, coctail attire and the whole mess is going down at 10:00. That's PM. Which is wayyy past our bed time, but I suppose while we're dressing all up and acting adult-like in our schnazzay black and whiteness, we can muster a few more hours without sleep. Or not. I'm pretty much just trying to kid myself into staying up later because this little 80-year-old ain't having it with staying up late. I'm thinking we "make an appearance" {I've always hated that phrase, but I'm coming to see some usefulness in it right now} and then bail back to our pillows for some shut-eye. 10 PM on a Thursday? Student Bar, you officially are more rad and less old person than we are. That's it.

Practice Exam

Shirt and Jeggings: Old Navy, Jacket: F21, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: Madden Girl, Necklace: Gift, Bracelets: F21, T and Co., Guess, Watch: Movado, Earrings: Betsy Johnson

You know what they say about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Well, actually, I haven't a clue what or if anyone says anything. But I'm pretty sure we've already seen the good of law school. And that happy window is coming to a close. In the form of a big, bad, practice test tomorrow. Uck. I don't even know how to spell that. But double uck. Thank goodness that sucker is anonymous because I'm shakin' in my boots. We get one "cheat sheet" to keep our heads on straight. So if my noggin looks a little crooked tomorrow, well, it's best just not to ask questions. How many more days until weekend again? Whew. Maybe after tomorrow the climb will be downhill. Lets just hope my bootay muscles hold up long enough to get me back down without falling over and rolling the whole way. Or not. I'll take the fall-and-roll way out too. As long as it gets me to Friday.

Dress: Gap, Coat and Scarf: F21, Socks: Target, Shoes: UO, Bow: DIY, Belt: Thrifted, Jewelry: Movado, T and Co., c/o Mimi's

Today we just played with the camera during outfit picture time. Yes, that is a designated time in my day. It comes between paint my nails time and pick out clothes for tomorrow time. Aaaand you think I'm joking. Anyway, we made much better use of our five minutes today and I'm really liking the results. It's a shame I don't allocate more than five minutes a day to play with el camera. (insert sad face) I miss that guy sometimes. Fortunately, we have a playdate scheduled for this Saturday in the form of an engagement session for my darling friends on the most incredible plantation. Please send some fall colors my way. I'd be much grateful to ya. Ok, I gotta make two more stops before I can hit the shower {ohmegeezpleezegivameahotshowerandsomecocoa!} so I better get crack-a-lackin!

Hello Rain

Dusty said I never put him on the blog anymore. So here you go. Blog, Dusty. Dusty, blog. I decided we needed new pictures yesterday. And maybe I needed an excuse to wear my wellies too. I love rainy Sundays!
