Guest Post: Ana from Sweet Serendipity

Hi Love Ramsey readers, I'm Ana from Sweet Serendipity. Today I am blog-sitting for Ramsey while she is enjoying her summer vacay. A little about me, I am a 22 year old poor college student. Husband and I have been married for 2 years now. My little blog is pretty much about anything and everything about fashion, us, how to make pretty things and other random stuff.
Photobucket
So I have this thing with clothes. I kind of really love it and I share about my personal style on my blog. I love fashion. I love Thrifting. I love going and searching for those hidden treasures. I'm a thriftaholic. I love finding vintage stuff that if they could talk, they would tell the most awesomeness story ever. Something else I love about thrifting... the prices. My husband also loves that little part since we're poor college students. He always says... "My wallet thanks you!" He cracks me up.

I feel like my style is always evolving, which I love. I love to take those little fashion trends and make them my own, with my own little touch. I love blogging because you can see how much you grow as time goes by, how much your style changes, it's basically your own public journal.
Photobucket
I also love creating. Anything really.
I love making jewelry, home decor, clothe refashion, you name it I love to "diy" it for cheaper. I have a tab on my blog sidebar titled "i make stuff" if you ever want to check it out. Your welcome ;)

If you'd like to see a little more about us just check out my little ol' blog.
I'd love to have you there.
Hugs... Ana.
Thank you beautiful girl for babysitting my little blog while I'm away!
Love,
Ramsey

Today was a Tom Petty kind of a day. Then again, what day isn't? I'm also celebrating the Fourth of July early. With a flashy red, white, and blue ensemble, Chick-fil-a, and a little trip to Costco. I think they have a Fourth of July in Puerto Rico too. Or maybe they just skip right from the third to the fifth. Who knows. I just wanted to err on the side of safety. So, I think I've got us squared away on the whole trip thing. I have a few posts that I have sneakishly pre-written and I'm sure you'll have a festivity-filled weekend to keep you busy. Or maybe you'll sit at home all weekend wondering what in the world you'll do without my little blog to read. Oh, however will you survive not knowing exactly what I wore each day? We're kind of at the point where if I don't photograph my outfit it didn't happen. If it would make you feel better to think I walked around in my unders each day, have at it. I promise to update you all when I get back. Then perhaps you can sleep again.

Well, Bon Voyage. {Actually that's what you say when leaving on a boat. I have absolutely no clue what the exit cue is when leaving on a plane. Nada. But whatever it is, consider it said.} I'm off tomorrow and I will see ya'll on the flip side.

Love,

Ramsey

I think I woke up on the dramatic side of the bed today. I don't know what side that is on your bed, but on my bed, it is the right. Or the left. Depending on how you look at it. I was feeling particularly saucy. So I wore an overly extensive amount of layers considering the mountainous heat we're facing. I think I liked it. I also woke up on the late side of the bed. But that one is sort of old news. Dusty walked in mid-tease on his way to work to wish me good morning. That was his first non-finished tease product experience and lets just say I believe I enlightened him. Light socket style. You don't get this kinda height from nothin'.

In other non-hair experience news, the lovely Jess LC is offering a 20% discount to all of you sweet thangs from now until Friday. So I suggest you all hurry your little bums over there and pick out a glorious bag or some fab jewelry for a friend. Or yourself. It's whatever. Just enter the code LOVERAMSEY when you check out.

1. If that's not weird enough for you, let me add that it was 11:30 at night and the temperature reached 100 degrees yesterday. I'm pretty sure my odd ball meter just went up quite a few notches. Sometimes you just get those cravings.

2. This is not what I wore today. I actually woke up at 7:35 to get to work at 8:00 and had just enough time to throw my hair in a pony, dab on some makeup, and pull this dress out of my closet in a state of literal blindness to get to work on time. I threw this on after the office.

3. It rained today. Which meant I had an excuse for wellies after work. They make me smile.

4. Rain makes for a sssslllow day at the office. I painted my nails, pledged the entire office, and caught up on emails. It was a productive day.

5. I got my new camera in the mail today. Canon 5D Mark II. Mom cornered the UPS man in a parking lot for it and brought it to me at work. I ripped that puppy out of the package and practically gave it a kiss. We are in love just a little bit.

Happy weekend!

I am very pro-nugget. I love children, really I do. But I agreed to watch sissy's babysitting job for the day and they gave me a run for my money. Patience is a virtue. Unfortunately one that I am still workin' on. Sometimes you need a little refresher on kiddos. Just to remind you of what little balls of energy they are. And the amazingly picky eaters they can be. And how quickly they can turn a house upside down. I honestly don't see how I could ever be overweight as a mother with all the running around and to busy for a meal all dayness of the whole thing. They are also super good snugglers, have big, sweet eyes, and are the world's best popsicle-eaters. I think I should probably start small though. Perhaps a dog. Or a fish. Fish would be good.

I know, I know. Half up and curly as opposed to down and curly. I just really like to amp that shock factor sometimes. Right to the roof, lemme tell ya. I actually pull this 'do quite often for work. Not that I like to get all fancy for the office or anything, it just hides that third day hair and keeps me from having to recurl it and tame the frizz {thankyaverymuch Florida}. I always save my updos for the imtoolazytowashthehair days. Why waste perfectly good, clean curls with hairspray? So anywho, for those of you who aren't super familiar with this simple style, let me give you the rundown. Yes, yes, too exciting for words doesn't even come close to describing me at 12:00 on this lovely Tuesday night.

Basically you style the hair, curly or straight to begin. Then, separate the bang area from the main part of the hair if you do not wish to include it in your "bump". Next, starting with a small slice of hair just behind the bang area, gently backcomb from behind. Continue with tiny, ear-to-ear slices of hair until you reach the crown of the head. The more you tease your hair, the bigger the bump. Also the more tears it will shed because, quite frankly, hair is not a very good sport in the teasing department. Bigger bumps are nice for more fancy schmancy events, but I prefer a smaller one for work, a decidedly non-fancy schmancy event to say the least. {Yes, I realize this line could work double time for a bra ad. But maybe it just seems that way to the Young and the Breastless of us.} Once you have your bump to the preferred level of bumpiness, draw the sides back and together into a half-up, twist the hair slightly, and secure with bobby pins. I can't decide if this is far too in-depth for something so simple or confusing beyond belief. But, as mentioned, it's 12:00. P.M. So we shall certainly cut me a break. The style is also a most wonderous base for all sorts of other hairstyles, including a chignon, a side pony, a braid, high or low ponytail, or even a full on up-do. I would love to see your picture if you give it a whirl! So shoot me some emails. We'll have a nice little show and tell party here on the old blog. Like kindergarden. But with teasing combs.

Ramsey

Happy Daddy's Day!

IMG_0417IMG_0407

We spent ours down at the Coast, stuffing our bellies with the most sinfully delicious fried seafood. And then we came home to celebrate my Mommy's Birthday {tomorrow}. With cake. We were particularly fat and carb conscious today.

I would like to say happy Father's Day to my Daddy! Thank you for having a sense of humor and teaching me to laugh at myself. {Although I'm not always the best at it.} Thank you for teaching me to travel and try new things. Thank you for your most wonderful breakfasts and teaching me how to make food pretty. Thank you for instilling in me a love for the rock-and-roll classics. I would not know how to have good taste in music without you. Thank you for being the dad that only you could be. I love you!

Love,

Ramsey

And just incase your Sunday was a bit dry in the humor department, here is a lovely shot of my sister mid toe touch, looking remarkably like a troll doll. Darling isn't it?toe touch

We went blueberry picking

IMG_0385

Last night. And it was completely stupendous. We have the most delectable, organic blueberry farm right across the street. We know, we are lucky little birds. The weather was perfect for blueberry harvesting as there was an enormous-looking thunderstorm rolling in. I adore weather like that. Most people run for shelter. I like to soak up the wind in my hair and breathe in the smell of rain. Delicious. It also meant a dreamy 70 degrees. Considering the fact that it hasn't dipped below 85 for the past few days {or nights}, it was positively chilly. Good gracious it was wonderful! We stayed till the last possible moment and The Big Red Wagon whisked us away, along with our loot bags full of lucious blue goodness, just as the rain drops started to fall. Hope you had a stupendous Friday evening as well!

Ramsey

We stumbled upon this most wonderful place after a trip to Aveda for a birthday massage {for Mom} and a haircut {for me}. {P.S. Aveda the Institute is the bomb for cuts and spa services. I got a 2 hour ahhmazing haircut for $12. No kidding. Student pricing is a wonderful thing!} Anywho. This little gem has been hiding from me in the most charming little coral colored building full to the brim with all things quirky, vintage, and utterly delicious. See above hanging bed scattered with sock monkeys and hand-sewn owls. And do you see that jar of moustaches and the mason jar/Christmas cactus chandellier? I am in love. And a door covered in pegs layered with fun necklaces? Really. Just too good. Me likey. The cupcakes were fabulous as they look and slathered with a mountain of fluffy, homemade frosting. My mouth is watering again right now. If you happen to be wandering around my neck of the woods any time soon you should first call me. And then we will so head to midtown to take advantage of this most happy little spot!

Happy Weekend!
