In My White Tee

Sweater: Charolette Russe, Shirt: Polo Ralph Lauren Sport, Jeans: Hollister, Shoes: Thrifted, Socks: Gift, Scarf: Old Navy, Headband: F21, Watch: Shoe Station, Belt: Thrifted

Ok, so Brittany over at Population 250 asked me to style up a white tee for you guys and the whole 30 for 30 biz starts tomorrow (yes, tomorrow...yikes!). So here is how I did it on my last day of wardrobe freedom. You guys fake it and be impressed. I babysat for two adorable (and active) little nuggets all day. Comfort was at the top of my priority list.

I also got tagged by Emmy of Em's Fashion Finds to tell 15 interesting things about myself. I suppose this will show you that I am only interesting in the "weird" sense of the word.

1. I am a criminology and political science major who is interested in fashion. Try that one on for size. Trust me, it's really hard to explain to people. It's also odd to walk into a class of 150 and be the only one in heels.
2. I eat absolutely everything possible out of a coffee cup. I know I've mentioned it before...but I suppose it bears saying twice. If it can be placed in a mug, it will. I don't know why, it's just a freakish obsession my twisted little mind jumped on like white on rice.
3. I treated myself to that silver nail polish you see in the above photos today. And I'm kinda psyched about it. It's Sally Hanson-Tying the Knot. It doesn't really make me think of tying the knot. But I love it. I bite. We'll see how long this lasts.
4. The minis I babysit call me RaeRae. It's pretty much my favorite nickname ever. (Even if we don't consider the fact that it's up against Rambi and Squirrel Butt.)
5. I'm also quite psyched about the new watch you see above. I'm in mad love with the color mustard and I think it's the first mustard item I've actually owned.
6. I'm pretty much the cheapest person ever. I was a big spender this weekend and dropped $26 at Goodwill. Big bucks.
7. (not really me, but) Dusty doesn't really understand the thrift store thing. He's more of a "ya need it you buy it" sort of a guy. He doesn't understand the thrill of the hunt. I feel so primative saying that.
8. I recently discovered my love for red lipstick. I don't know what took me so long. Dusty also loves it. But he says it makes me harder to kiss. He kisses anyway. I think he looks good in red too. My next ($5) splurge will be on some Revlon moisturizing red.
9. I have this really hott guy who loves me a lot. And I love him too. But I think you guys know that one.
10. (I had to phone a friend for the rest of these. Aparently Dusty knows me better than me. Scary.) I like to cook. I think that's why Dusty fell for me. My cousin and I "cooked" dinner for D and her boyfriend when we were first getting to know each other and it bombed. So I redeemed myself with Chicken Cacciatorre and he's loved me ever since. Or so I'd like to think.
11. I like breakfast food at dinner. But not at breakfast. Unless it is a late breakfast. Like almost a brunch. And then it better be a Jethro (google it). Yes, I am a condition person. Like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally." It gets annoying. But at least I have a few people who are able to put up with me.
12. Another one that bears saying twice. I love LOVE burgers an fries. I order this meal every time we go out and I crave it every meal in between. I'm a very cultured girl.
13. I straighten. Pictures, pillows, pretty much anything that I can straighten, I straighten. Now if I could only extend that habbit to straightening my room and hanging my clothes back up after throwing reject outfits on the floor every morning. I just broke a record for how many times you can use the word straighten in two sentences. Guinness, where are you?
14. I like falling to sleep watching football. Nothing against the sport, it's just that the sound of the crowd turned down low resembles the gentle roar of waves crashing on the shore. Just to be clear, I've only done this in a stadium once.
Kidding.
15. One of my guilty pleasures is waking up early when I don't have to just so I can spend the morning by myself drinking coffee. And whatever else happens to come along. It's a one with nature feeling to be the first one awake. Ok, 10:30 is past my bedtime, I'm starting to wax philosophical on you guys.
Love,
Ramsey

So, incase you guys haven't heard, I'm joining Kendi's Winter 30 for 30. It pretty much scares the poop out of me, so I'm going to need lots of smiley faces and cupcakes to keep me going. Sorry if these aren't the utmost best pictures of all time. But you guys should know that you will be seeing MUCH more of these pieces over the next 30 days, so we will get well acquainted. Scouts honor. It's also a bit awkward to stand in your yard arranging and photographing your clothes. I'm sure the neighbors have called the funny farm on me by now. I'm working on my speech for the men in white suits as we speak. I better go fix my hair and get out of my pajamas.

Soak in the last bit of your weekend folks!

Love,

Ramsey

P.S. How obvious is it that my wardrobe is composed of neutrals with a few pieces of red in a desparate attempt to be more colorful?

Picnic

So, today was my last day of shopping freedom. And golly gee was it a good one. Goodwill was feeling generous today my friends. Unfortunately, it was mostly Spring (I got a Brooks Brothers dress for $6...no kidding). But I did score a little beauty that you will meet soon for my 30. Speaking of the 30, Dusty called me today when I was in F21 buying accessories because I neeeeded them. Yes. Needed. I told him I was shopping and he said, "you better buy up some good stuff, you know you've got the 30 for 30 coming up." I really love that guy.

And since we love each other and all, we decided to take each other on a picnic for dinner. We have been blessed with a fantabulous weekend weather wise! So we headed our little selves to Publix where the nice man in the seafood department cooked some shrimp for us in Cajun butter (another notch folks). And we stole some napkins and forks from the deli. And we took our goods to a local park where we sat up on a hill and watched the sun set as we downed our weight in shrimp and bread. This is five star baby!

I will be posting my 30 for 30 picks tomorrow even though I will probably forgo clothes in my study fest. Until then!
Love,
Ramsey
P.S. Yes, I did wear these pants yesterday.
P.P.S. That is Dusty's shaddow in those pics. We're workin' on it. We're also working on the whole photographing feet thing. Despite what you may think, I do have them.

Sometimes It's Friday

And that makes pretty much everything right in the world. Because on Fridays, you do nice things. Like spend the morning taking pictures of two twin little pink nuggets. And then editing them all afternoon. And thrift shopping, which is oh so fun. Even if you don't buy anything. Just because you know you have signed your life away to the 30 for 30 and will not be able to buy anything for 30 days. But today, you could have, because you still have three more days of shopping bliss. And the sun is just so glorious, and you can bask in it's most glorious rays as you skip from thrift store to thrift store. And tonight is enchilada night, so you plan to don your comfies and snuggle up to the tele. And snuggle with that guy you love a whole lot. And eat more than you should because you will be Zumbaing in the morning. Yeah, I just said that.

Yup, Fridays make everything just jolly.

I like Fridays.

How 'bout you?

Love,

Ramsey

Dear Mr. Projector Thingy Fixer Guy,

Sweater: Belk, Button-Up: Old Navy, Jeans: Abercrombie Kids, Boots: Steve Madden, Necklace: Gift, Belt: Target

I just wanted to tell you that I find it rather un-nice that you would choose the movie Cars as a tester for the DVD thingamajig. I mean really. We are at a university. With plenty of access to boring documentaries and such. But you chose one of the best movies of all time to tempt us poor college students whose minds are begging for some juvenile comic relief. Instead, we are subject to an hour and fifteen minutes of lecture. And that includes a tiny piece of boring documentary.
Dear Head of FSU parking,
I'm pretty sure your name and job title remain completely anonymous, as the student body of Florida State would have undoubtedly ripped your poor little self to shreds by now. Don't release any personal information because it will surely lead to a pitchfork riot at your front door. Sure I think it's nice if you are trying to promote environmental friendliness by limiting parking to 1/3 of the entire student population, thus making the statement: "don't drive." But I think we could go about this whole environmental thing a lot more pleasantly. I'm sure Harvard just pushes it's students to find/invent new sources of renewable energy. Let's give that one a try, shall we?
Dear Mr. Professor who administered a test. On a Thursday,
You are a really nice guy and all, but today is Thursday. As in one day before Friday and one day after Wednesday. Wednesday as in American Idol day. So you see, there was zero chance of me catching any studying last night on account of I'm addicted to AI as of recent. And studying over commercial breaks is largely impossible. Because, well, try it. It is.
Love,
Ramsey

It's a Cupcake and Hot Chocolate Kind of an Afternoon

Turtleneck: Belk, Jeans: Hollister, Scarf: PacSun, Sweater: ?, Belt: Hand me down, Shoes: Thrifted

I don't really know why. I suppose just because I can. So I did. Because as previously stated, the house is chock full of ridiculously sinful baked goods including these mini delightful cupcakes. And hot chocolate is a must when baked goods are involved. Because I said so. And we all know you do as I say. Right.
Also, it's colder than it looks outside. Sunshine does not equal warmness. Nope, not at all, it doesn't. So naturally, I stayed in my pajamas until after noon. Because I could.
Let's just be fair, though, I did get out of said jammas to go for a run and take a shower. But then they called me with their sweet little angelic fleece pajama pant voices and beckoned me back into their snugly goodness. Yes, it was a good day. And I studied. Which was monumentally less than good. But I will feel mildly better about watching American Idol with the boy instead of sticking my nose in Violence in America notes. So all in all, can't complain.
How was your Wednesday?
Love,
Ramsey

Well Color Me Happy! There's a Sofa In Here for Two

Shirt: Old Navy, Scarf: Old Navy, Jacket: F21, Skirt: Old Navy, Socks: Target, Boots: JCrew, Umbrella: Lilly Pulitzer

I had to quote Pretty Woman. Because I watched it this weekend. And I know every line.

It rained today. All day long. But it was Color Brigade Day with Kileen,so I had an extra uber awesome excuse to wear my rainboots. I also had to squeeze in some stripes because Everybody Everywear is wearing them! Duh! And I had to rock the Carrie bun. Because Sex and the City reruns are on E every night and thus plagues my tv every night from 8-9. And my hair has zero tolerance for humidity. 5% and my little baby hairs start screaming and standing on end. We had 100% humidity today. My hair had a hay day.

We made cupcakes tonight. Because aparently it's eat so many deserts that by Friday your butt looks like two enormous cinnamon buns are fighting to get out of your pants week. Aparently. They have cream cheese frosting.

Ok, Sex and the City is calling.

Love,

Ramsey

I Got Dressed Today

And other things that are making me feel much better today. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to prove it. Not to worry, I had to go el boro for work...professional day.
Ok, so these things make life better:
1. Dusty gave me a manicure. It was cute.

2. We went for a drive on Sunday. You know like they used to do in the old days. But with much higher gas prices.

3. We bought a house. I kid. But we did find this monster randomly situated in a conservative "neighborhood" in the middle of the woods.

4. We ate cheesecake tonight. Homemade.

5. This little love face is super snuggable.

6. I just watched Sex and the City reruns. Now I'm watching Bath Crashers. The dude is doing a demo and opens the toilet to find pee. Gross.

7. I am not going to my unholy 8 am class in the morning. And it's supposed to rain. Ching.

Thank you guys for all of your well wishes. You made me uber much better. I'm convinced, blog love heals the ickies. Sorry about the lack of clothes {even though my jammas and no makeup are awesome}. Tomorrow looks promising.

And guess what...I just signed my life away to the 30 for 30...wish me luck!

Love,

Ramsey

P.S. Kileen tagged me for the Stylish Blogger Award. Thank you dahling!!! Now I'm playing tag too!
Soooo, Blair and Savannah, I got cha!
