So, as promised, I am compelled to deliver my juicy little summer wardrobe challenge. Honestly guys, I'm not a big spender in the clothes department. The other night Dusty and I were having a conversation about how scared I would be if he decided to become an alligator hunter. Because this is a conversation every couple should have. Or perhaps it has something to do with our recent addiction to Swamp People. Who knows. Anyway, I asked him how he would feel if he sent me into the world's finest mall with his credit card and said, "have at it." And he responded with the fact that he would feel perfectly safe sending me right off with his plastic. This may speak to the fact that I am a terrible analogy-maker. But that is not the point. The point is that I am not a spender.

BUT, when the glorious days of summer roll around, I tend to get the itch. The itch to spice up my closet with new things. And then, I binge shop. It usually happens right before a vacation or special occasion. I have to have that something new and boy do I deserve it. And then once I dip my toe in, I go on a spending spree and then I feel guilty. And that is why I am placing a $100 limit on myself for reworking my wardrobe with some new pieces and making it feel a bit more sparkly for the summer months. Dare I say this shall be quite fun. That or I will hate this idea one month in. But I'm sticking to it for at least three monts. Ninety days. Maybe more if I can hold out.

By the way, we hope your Memorial Day weekend was Staching. Ours sure was. Pictures to come!

I have a confession to make. When I first started visiting all of your blogs, I used to be jealous. Jealous that you all lived in darling little towns. With drive-in theaters and quaint burger joints. And markets and trails for hiking. I used to think, "oh my, if I only lived in a quaint little town like that, we would be so much more fun. And have so many more exciting little adventures." And I felt like our little town was so dull and inadequate. But I have come to the realization that where you live is what you make it. In fact, life is what you make it. We get so caught up in treating life like a race to the finish line. Focusing on being on time, getting things done, and meeting deadlines. But the slowing down is really what it's all about. Taking a day to just be. Sans commitment. Sans deadlines. Sans hurry. And adopting this ideology, we have discovered some of the most charming little places right here near our home sweet home.

Exhibit A: Tomatoland. This vibrant, yellow hole in the wall is filled to the brim with more jellies, sauces, and syrups than you can "shake a stick at." {this is a dustyism} And the have the happiest little outdoor market. It was chirping with locals and the whole place just smelled of freshness and smiles. We absolutely cannot wait to go back. So there. I challenge you to go out and explore the your local hangs. Find a piece of happy in your town. And then come back and tell me about it. Because I said so. And because I will be stopping by if I ever come to visit your place.

Have a lovely day off tomorrow!

Ramsey

So last night, we went to pick up D-boy's red wagon at the truck place. And we decided to grab some dinner at this little Mexican restaurant downtown in one of the charming, old buildings. The downstairs of the restaurant is pretty much your typical Mexican joint, but the upstairs is completely gorgeous with exposed brick walls, heavy wood tables, leather chairs, modern chandelliers, and one of those in-the-wall-modern-flat-fireplace thingies. Who woulda thunk? We will most definitely be going back soon. We ate out on the terrace overlooking the sweet little old town and the weather was joyous. It was quite the happiest little night.

Have a darling Saturday!

The Farmer's Market and I have a bit of a "thang" going on as of recent. In fact, I stop by at least 2x per week to get my fix of fruit and baby spinach. Baby spinach is ultra important in my life. It is the peanut butter to my tuna salad. Or whatever. And I love buying their dollar baskets. Because who could pass by a little basket of randomly-selected veggie/fruit goodness for only a buckaroo? Not I. My most favorite thing right now? Georgia peaches. There is nothing like a big bowl of these beauties, so juicy and sweet they don't need anything but a fork. Or my fingers. Depends on how classy I am feeling that day.

By the way, how do we feel about the larger picture sizes? I'm not sure if it's too much Ramsey in your face, because I really don't read my own blog. I think I might actually have to start putting on more eye-liner now though because you can totally tell.

Now go get your Friday on lovies! See ya tomorrow!

An unexpected "date"

Sometimes it's really nice to just throw plans to the wind and enjoy a wonderfully unexpected day "date". Dusty Boy called me this morning and needed me to follow him to take "the big red wagon" to the truck dealership where he purchased it for repair. Apparently it has the death wobble. That's really what the condition is called. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. So anyway, I knew it would take a bite out of the editing I was potentially going to get done today, but I also knew he would completely do it for me, so I agreed. And boy was it ever the happiest 30-mile or so ride down a long, winding, country road. The sun was shining and my windows were down and sunroof open. I am convinced there is nothing more lovely than soaking in the fresh breath of nature out in the country. Where storefronts make way for big, sturdy barns and carefully cultivated flower beds make way for rolling hills and grazing cows. I am a sucker for a cute cow. And then, once we dropped off the "wagon," we picked up a green tea for me and drove all the way back together, chatting and just enjoying the pleasantness of the day. It feels like a sneaky little treat to leave work behind and just steal a few moments out of a weekday to enjoy life. I live and love for days like this.

Happy Thursday!

I skipped Tuesday

Shirt and pants: Old Navy, Belt: Thrifted, Shoes: Target, Bracelets: Sorelli and Premier, Vest: F21

Well, not really. I was here. And I did get dressed. This is what I wore. I also studied, cleaned, ran, edited a bootay-load of pictures, and had a wedding photo consultation {went well btw...whoo hoo!!!}. But I didn't blog. I had all intentions of it, I just lacked anything of utter interest to say. And time. But I always seem to have a time deficiency. So much so that I am now considering it to be a chronic illness.
When the seasons change, I always get that craving to put a little juice into my wardrobe. Ya know, just zip it up a little with some new goodies. Summer calls for simple, clean, lightweight goodies. With fun accessories. And shades, because those are a summer necessity. I'm tossing around a few juicy new summer ideas for the blog now. I'll fill ya in as soon as I think up the winning concoction. But I feel pretty jazzy about it.
Happy Hump Day!

Ramsey

It's Monday...blah blah blah

Do you guys ever get tired of me blabbing about Mondays {hint hint: correct answer is no}. It's just that this weekend was very weekendy. I mean movies, shopping, pizza, the whole deal. Because that's what weekends are about. Over indulgence. {In my mind, this is how things work. Don't try to correct me.} And today is very non-weekendy. In fact, today is very Monday-y. Complete with the fact that I overslept this morning. Boogers. Anywho, this outfit was very boaty don't you think? It didn't actually go on a boat. It went shopping instead, which is very non-boaty. But it really would have enjoyed a boat ride. So would I. But that's neither here nor there.

Happy Mondaying!

Love,

Ramsey

P.S. Do we notice that I added a "y" to the end of most words in this post. I think it makes for a nice little ring.

P.P.S. Isn't this little furball cute?

So I had this purse in my pictures yesterday. But I doubly like it. So it's back today.

Good news. Dusty offered to take the personal assistant position. Which is good because most of you guys live pretty far away. {If you didn't we would so be for real friends. And I would take yout shopping.} And you mostly don't want to move to hot sticky Florida. But he's already here, so that whole thing kinda works out. Only thing is he isn't interested in my hand-me-downs. So we decided to trade those out for kisses. I might throw in a dinner or two because I'm the generous type. He's no good in the makeup and hair department either, but I think I'll manage with just those two. I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Plus: He's hotttt.

Channeling the menswear in this outfit. I must say, they have something going there...super comfiness.

Seriously, sometimes I feel like I need another me. So I can split me up and get everything done within the course of 24 hours. Or actually 14. I like my sleep. Where did this week go? I have so much to do and so little time. So, do I have any takers? Qualifications: must be organized, like cooking healthy meals...and chocolate chip cookies {preferably with milk chocolate chips, served straight from the oven}, be familiar with Microsoft Office and proficient at responding to emails, do laundry, and be an experienced hair and makeup artist who can make me look flawless every day. First order of duty: fix my Blogger so that I can access it from my computer and come visit each and every one of you to say hi. I know most of you aren't from Florida, but you can move in and share my room. I'm neat. Well, not really. Will pay in hand-me downs and hugs. I think this whole deal is gonna work out real grand.

Love,

Ramsey
